Verizon Droid X

The iphone is the most wanted smartphone in the world even in recent times when its faults have come to light. In the US however, AT&T is the only carrier with the sole rights to sell the iphone to its customers and with just a small fraction of the US market, many Americans are missing out currently on the iphone.

Customers have reported their dissatisfaction with the quality of the iphone’s network and many people are blaming AT&T for the network anomalies.

The new sleek iphone with its unlimited features and sleek graphics induce its users to surf the web and download more pictures, videos, etc. studies indicate AT&T iPhone customers use five times as much data as other customers who use Blackberrys and twice the amount used by customers who browse the web with other smartphones. As a result of the facilities provided by the new iphone, AT&T networks’s bandwidth is overused. This means the iphone has exceeded its performance expectations.

New changes by AT&T will let users pay for as much data as they use and even though many customers were not happy with it, it looks like it was an important change.

It looks like many wireless carriers will have an equal strain on their bandwidth when they finally make the iphone available to their customers later in the year as the customers will download more and more data.

Users of the Droid X , a Motorola manufactured android smartphone are downloading skyrocketing amounts of data and currently using 500% more than other smart phone users in the US.

The smaller number of Droid X users on Verizon will give the carrier an idea of how its competitor is facing challenges and know what to expect when they finally make the iphone available to its customers. Experts believe Verizon will also let its customers pay for as much data as they use.

Data available from users of the Droid X has given away the following assumptions in relation to how data is used.

More and more people are using their phones to download data from the web.

Many android phones will be released in future to offer competition to the iphone in relation to how many more people will download data from their phones and how comfortable users feel using them.

Even though exciting times lie ahead for mobile phone users in terms of innovation, we are all waiting to see how wireless carriers will handle those bandwidth challenges.

I found it hard to believe that the Droid X is consuming so much bandwidth! This could be due to the media rich capacity of the phone I guess. But nevertheless as you say it could be a good thing for Verizon, who will need to be able to handle the bandwidth consumption with the iPhone.

The Droid X does not rival the iPhone, it is better than the iPhone.
