Trojan horse discovered in Android
Kaspersky Security company claims it located the first of its kind Trojan horse in Android that sends SMS automatically, and charges high amounts from careless Phone users
Kaspersky Security company announced it discovered a Trojan horse virus that damages mobile phones running on Android – Google’s operating system.
According to Kaspersky’s claim, theTrojan called Trojan.a.SMS.AndroidOS.FakePlayer is the first of its kind on Android phones and has already damaged a few.
Phones – although a number of Android devices were damaged in the past by spyware.
The Trojan Detected is an application masquerading as a media player users are asked to install like a normal application. When the device is damaged, it starts sending SMS messages on its own to special numbers to which higher fees are collected than the standard message similar to a donation or an online purchase by SMS. The crooks who spread the virus are of course pocketing the money.
Unwise Trojan
The mashable website adds that the application is not available in the official android applications store and has to be installed manually and confirm use of the SMS application during installation so you can definitely protect yourself against the Trojan horse quite easily if you’re careful.
