Pharmaceutical

TEVA is a worldwide leading company at the pharmaceutical industry and investing money on their stocks at Wall Street, producing money to any investor portfolio, but not today, TEVA stock dropped 8.6% after Novartis approved by the FDA to market generic enoxaparin sodium in the U.S.A.

The approval of the drug given orally to treat multiple sclerosis and may bite Copaxone’s market share, stock market analysis mention that the radical drop of TEVA stock is not because of the FDA approval of the generic drug, it is more because of the investors concern and panic, hearing such news.

Even the stock of Sanofi – Aventis, the company that produces the Halubnux, didn’t hurt that much and dropped in a lower rate than TEVA, the reason is that the certificate was a known fact but the deadline was not known in advance.

Although the approval process of generic Lovnux took much more time than approval of other generic drugs, in the recent months even Sanofi – Aventis thought of it as a fait accompli, therefore, it is difficult to understand the intensity of the hysterical reaction of investors in Wall Street on Friday, it looks like a state of over shooting.

Teva believes Copaxone is a drug far more complex than Amalovnux and the approval of generic Copaxone will require clinical testing. Analysts explain the composition of Halubnux is very different from Copaxone, and you can’t expect that the approval of the first drug will be the same way as the second. This is the result of negative news about the drug that worth third of TEVA profits. Generic competition scenario is very stressful and as a result, investors sell stocks and cause drastic drop in TEVA’s stock price.
