There was huge competition between the various operating systems for mobile phones over the course of the week at the Berlin location of the IFA trade fair. Before the fair, new versions of Andoid Based OS were released by different manufacturers. Apple also released new versions of iPods as well as new iTunes with social networking features.

The Apple announcements were the biggest news of the week after it made available the huge sales figures for the iphone 4 and other gadgets made by them. Even though the ipad didn’t come during the press conference, current versions of the iOS 4 are scheduled to be released in November. Users on other smartphones other than the iphone 4 will also be able to access FaceTime which is available on the latest iPod Touch.

New smartphones using Android OS are increasing by the day as many new Phone giants such as Panasonic and LG will be making their latest Android phones available on the market in the course of the show. Samsung has already showed the way with the launching of the GalaxyTab on the fair’s maiden day. After successful launching the Galaxy S, Samsung is becoming a big player in the Android Smartphone market.

With major holidays around the corner, software giants like Apple and Google are releasing new gadgets with special emphasis on smartphones and tablet gadgets.
