PS3 will have 3D by next month

Sony boss Howard Stringer has stated that 3D movie will be viewable on the PlayStation 3 by next month. He made the statement when speaking at the IFA fair in Berlin.




He said that the software giant has completed its 3D application development and it will be upgraded by next month. Consumers should however have a TV device that is 3D viewable. Blu-ray discs will be used to view the 3D movies.

Sony is notable for marketing the Blu-ray application and its set to market 3D movies and devices now.

Stringer also spoke about other gadgets that Sony is working to integrate 3D into including the Sony Vaio laptops which is being developed with 3D screens. Sony showed a Beta version at the show that worked at a speed of 240 frames every second. Users were required to wear 3D eyeglasses to have a feel of the 3D effect as it utilized shutter technology.

There will be a Sony 3D projector for people looking for a cinema-like experience at home. It will be launched in November and it’s called the VPL-VW90ES.
