Nissan GTR bursts from the past
The GAPO German series flies through time to improve the mythological GT-R with a modern spirit. 523 Horse power “old school style”.
Nissan is the wet dream of every internationally workshop founder beginning with the days it was referred to, under the Japanese flag, as skyline GT-R. in 2004 Nissan celebrated the 20th anniversary to the NISMO division (Nissan Motorsports International) and introduced rare limited editions referred to as the Z-TUNE series and are restricted to 20 units alone. Now the sequel comes from the western continent under the sponsorship of the JAPO workshop.
The German JAPO has recently developed a number of ambitious projects dealing with the restoration and improvement of muscle cars with historical value. The first car to break out after 3.5 months of planning and building is the Nissan skyline GT-R34 (based on its 1999 model), and it is also limited to 20 units alone and will come with an uncommon price tag.
The skyline was carefully chosen by the two company’s engineers. They went through adds for two years until they found 20 fairly preserved samples that will be able to hold all the modifications and improvements.
The initial modifications were done to the starter unit in the front. The unit underwent expensive upgrades and wrapped in exotic materials.
The skyline engine is armed with a 2.5L bi turbo charger height by HKS that runs on a 1.5 bar. The engine’s output stands at 523 horse power with 58.2 with manual transmission and five transfer relation. The rest of the components align accordingly; the exhaust emission system was replaced, the strut was changed as well as re-calibrating the breaks and suspension system. The tires were enlarged to 265/35/16 from Toyo Proxas. The passengers cabin and its linings were wrapped with leather and Alcantara and carbon fibers in the doors.
The speed limit of the skyline stands at 320 KM per hour but the 100 extra KM per hour is not advertised. Maybe it is saved as the cherry for the buyers arriving at the factory to buy the busting skyline.
The cost? If they are willing to give up 91 thousand Euros or 440 thousand NIS the skyline will park in their driveway.
The price of history.
