In the new campaign for Windows 7 prior to the beginning of the school year in the U.S., Microsoft makes claims against Mac computers – the Kings of the student segment.

The School year in college and high schools in the U.S. is approaching, and Microsoft is polishing swords, in the battle for the most coveted target audience these days: High scholl Boys and girls and colleges students. As part of a campaign that was uploaded onto the Windows 7 site, Microsoft explains why Windows 7 is better than a Mac – of course, Why competitors are bad.

The page shows a dark-haired brown eyed girl either in high school or college, against the backdrop of a stylish room with the question: “ Choosing between Mac and PC”? and beneath it the answers. Microsoft is attacking its competitor – Mac computers in six main fronts: fun, simplicity, ability to work, sharing, compatibility and choice.

Some of the claims are reasonable and logical (less Mac Games, Mac hardware has less variety) and some border on intimidation (table calculations will be different!) – But the title of each subject, is amusing: “Mac’s can spoil the fun,” Mac’s dont like to share” and “Mac’s did not like the ingredients of your PC”. According to Microsoft, Mac’s are disgruntled creatures.

Nevertheless, Apple’s Mac computers are still the best-selling computers among students in the United States. I wonder if Microsoft’s current campaign year, will tilt the scales in favor of Windows 7.
