Microsoft introduces a peek into IE10 and support of ARM
Only two weeks after the launch of IE9, Microsoft introduces a first glimpse of the next browser version, IE10, in the MIX event held in Las Vegas.
The company introduced a first version of IE10 that allows experimenting with the new attributes implemented in the browser such as graphic hardware acceleration, HTML 5 support, CSS3 and more.
“We began developing the version three weeks ago and would like to include the developer’s community at this stage”, said Dean Hachamovitch, Corporate Vice President on the Internet Explorer blog.
Support of ARM processors
One of the interesting things in Microsoft’s demonstration during the MIX event is the fact that the demonstration was conducted on a computer running an ARM processor (that competes with Intel’s ATOM). Nvidia confirmed the report with a tweet and stated it was a Tegra 2 processor.
Earlier this year, Microsoft promised it was going to expand support of the Windows OS to ARM processors as well but we will probably have to wait for Windows 8 and the final version of IE10 to see the technology in consumer’s hands.
