Playboy is entering the online games market. Collaborate with a company that develops games for its site.

Playboy is entering the online games market. The company notified that it is collaborating with German games company Bigpoint, which will help it develop games to incorporate on playboy.com. the first game expected to appear on the site is Poisonville, a criminal action game starred by “beautiful women playboy style”. The games will be free of charge and will be supported by ads appearing on them.

Playboy will launch a video games brand at the end of 2010, that will be targeted for a male audience 18-35 years old. Playboy has already dealt with video games in the last couple of years (for example “The Mansion” that was released on PS) but on a smaller scale. The company did not state how much money it was going to invest in developing the new brand but claims it will be a significant amount.

“One of our basic abilities is to use our brand to show quality content” says Paul Lee from playboy. “games is a growing mainstream zone and one of our plans is to extend the playboy brand into mainstream”.
