Twitter

The micro blogging service Twitter is going to launch a “Tweet” button that will perform a similar action to Facebook’s “Like”.

Twitter is about to launch a Tweet button this week that will be integrated into Web sites and allow users to perform an action similar to the Facebook’s “Like” – marking a page they liked and announcing it to their friends through their feed. The Mashable website revealed that the micro blogging service is going to combine the service, that is also going to be the reliable and most comprehensive counter of the number of times in which users share a link on Twitter. The button should provide full statistics on the distribution of the link.

To integrate the button on a certain site its operators will have to add only one line of code, and will be able select one of three versions of the button. The use of the button will shorten the automatic address link by a shortening Twitter address service. All of this will take place within the site that combines the service, and there will not be any need to transfer the user to Twitter.

Mashable estimate that the Tweetmeme service is going to be damaged by the new feature because it provides a similar tool to the Twitter count. The site also raises the possibility that Twitter has some agreement with Tweetmeme. Facebook’s like service that allows the user to select and publish a page they liked in their social feed networking – has gained great popularity, and incorporated in a multitude of sites around the world.
