Nokia is renewing Symbian

Symbian has a new version and along with it Nokia is launching two new phones: the first a corporate phone and the second for multimedia applications.
Nokia does not forget the Symbian. In an event held in London yesterday, the company revealed two new smartphones that use the veteran OS as well as giving Symbian itself a face lift. This is not a change in strategy- the company still plans on focusing on Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7.

Microsoft introduces a peek into IE10 and support of ARM

Only two weeks after the launch of IE9, Microsoft introduces a first glimpse of the next browser version, IE10, in the MIX event held in Las Vegas.
The company introduced a first version of IE10 that allows experimenting with the new attributes implemented in the browser such as graphic hardware acceleration, HTML 5 support, CSS3 and more.
“We began developing the version three weeks ago and would like to include the developer’s community at this stage”, said Dean Hachamovitch, Corporate Vice President on the Internet Explorer blog.

A day after Anonymous’ threats: Sony’s sites are under attack

Problems accessing Sony sites were noticed today, one day after Anonymous threatened they would act against the company for its legal actions against the hackers of the PS3.

Sony’s online division is downsizing

The division in Sony responsible for online games is firing 205 employees and cancelling “The Agency”.
Sony’s online division, responsible for the creation of the company’s mass online games, is downsizing. During the weekend it was reported that Sony fired 205 employees and cancelled one of the most curious and promising games it’s been working on, the mass espionage game “The Agency”.

Nokia vs. Apple: filed an especially large patent suit

The iPhone, iPad and Mac computers – all these products are up for legal discussion after the cellular giant claimed apple violated no less than 46 patents.

Nokia will not let apple off the hook: the Finnish cellular giant filed a new suit today that accuses Apple with a substantial infringement of 46 patents. The accusations pertain to all Apple products, starting with the iPhone, iPad and up to Mac computers.

After the announcement by Samsung that it will reveal an Android phone in the beginning of November, a rumor claims it is the Nexus 2.

Firefox 4: only next year

Mozilla has officially announced that it is delaying the release of Firefox 4. The browser will be launched in the beginning of 2011.

Version 4 of the Firefox browser will not be released before 2011 as announced by Mozilla. Microsoft to Netbook manufacturers: choose Android? You’ll pay

The company is suing ASUS and ACER for royalties on using its patents. Why? To deter them from using Android on their computers.
